Everyone in Houston is singing the praises of Fall. It couldn't be more beautiful here. Blue skies. Breezy (non-humid weather), and just enough chill in the air to feel darn good about serving apple crisp for dessert tonight (as I will be doing). Mostly, we are so relieved to leave that special place in the universe where the sun starts to burn a large and scorching hole in the Earth, one centered right on Houston, one that involves much sweating and discomfort. Goodbye scorching place, I will miss thee not.
So. No pictures. My camera has lain idle for the past couple of days. Parker has been somewhat under the weather. He's in the in-between state...he doesn't feel great...but not so lousy that just laying around cuts it for him either. Mostly, he feels crummy in the morning and pretty fine by the end of the day. Tomorrow...he's going to school...after a little afternoon visit to the doc to just check everything out.
As for me...I don't need a professional diagnosis, I know exactly what is wrong with me: not enough sleep. And it's not that I'm playing on the Internet until the wee hours; it's that I can't stay asleep. For the life of me I can't make myself really sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning. Before that it's toss and turn and doze and wake up. I know that if I kicked the running into high gear at night...I would probably sleep better. And I'm getting desperate, so I might have to tie on the old running shoes tonight. Until then I think I'll just be grumpy and irritable. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it.
Right now? It's back to the old drawing board for my conference paper. I need something GOOD. Dang it.
Say it with me Advil PM.
