I've somehow lucked into this grand tradition of the girls' weekend. Each year five friends meet together in a different city to eat and talk and sight-see. But let's be real, mostly to eat. This was our fifth year, and we picked Seattle. We wanted some of that cool Pacific Northwest vibe, and some of the foodie fare. Also, we wanted some time to just be people, people with no sports practices, no games, no dinners to make, no laundry to wash, no one lone orange sock to locate. This is THE best part of girls' weekend. If we walk by a theater and notice a movie we want to see...we march right into the theater. We might even eat candy. Or go to the bathroom 17 times. It doesn't matter. We can do WHATEVER we want. Whatever is very liberating.
And then we eat some more...because that's our fave part.
We took the ferry to Bainbridge Island, which is super quaint and reminiscent of Wings (the tv show), although I was sternly reminded that Wings is on the east coast (Nantucket, to be exact). When Sterling and I retire we are def getting a house on Bainbridge. The pictures will be fantastic.
My only regret is that these trips are but once a year. I'm thinking quarterly would work fine for me.
